BEHIND THE LENS
Sarah grew up in San Diego, CA and began taking film photography classes when she was in middle school, spending many hours in the dark room developing and printing photographs. Inspired by her great-grandfather, who travelled the world taking photographs, her love of photography grew and she began taking photographs at horse shows as well as portraits for friends and family. Sarah attended Middlebury College, where she studied economics and film. During her time at Middlebury, she was fortunate enough to take an intensive digital photography course with Gigi Gatewood, and continues to seek new learning experiences and inspiration from a variety of photographers. Although she has mostly transitioned from film to digital, she tries to maintain a certain raw, natural quality in her images inspired by the soft, authentic textures created when shooting with film. At present, Sarah focuses on lifestyle and landscape photography, shooting portraits, engagements, elopements and everything in between. She is currently located in Los Angeles and enjoys outdoor adventures, running and spending time with family and friends.
